Targeted Treatment Solutions
When pain doesn’t improve with rest or therapy, targeted procedures may be the answer.

Consultation
At your first appointment, we focus on you. Dr. Alexander listens to your questions, concerns, and health history to understand where your pain comes from. We may perform imaging or additional testing to best determine your treatment plan.

Treatment
Spinal injections may include epidurals, selective nerve blocks, facet joint injections, SI joint injections, and intradiscal procedures. In addition, we also perform hip, knee, and shoulder injections. Dr Alexander utilizes on-site fluoroscopy (X-ray guidance) when appropriate for most spinal injections to ensure accuracy and safety during the treatment process. Sedation is an available option for most spinal procedures.

Results
Pain relief can last months or even years. Most patients experience significant pain relief, better sleep, and improved mobility with only one to three procedures. Follow-up visits align with your results, making sure you stay on track toward lasting benefit. Over 90 percent of our patients significantly improve without surgery!

Yes. Dr. Alexander uses fluoroscopy (X-ray guidance) for spinal injections. This improves safety and makes injections more effective, minimizing risks of bleeding, infection, or accidental injury to surrounding tissues.
You may be a good candidate for pain management injections in Charleston if your pain doesn’t improve with rest, medication, or physical therapy. Injections are especially helpful for people with inflammation from herniated discs, degenerative discs, spinal stenosis, sciatica, nerve compression, or arthritis.
They are also a great option if pain keeps you from sleeping, working effectively, or enjoying daily activities, and you want a non-surgical solution. Dr. Alexander evaluates your medical history, any imaging, and the pain relief goals to determine if injections are the right step in your care plan.
Relief is different for every patient and condition. Most patients enjoy months to years of reduced pain. We can administer additional injections as needed to help you manage your pain long-term.
In many cases, yes. Injections target pain at the source, often providing the same kind of relief you would expect from surgery. By reducing inflammation, calming irritated nerves, and restoring mobility, injections can resolve or manage pain long-term, often eliminating the need for surgery. Over Ninety (90) Percent of our patients significantly improve without surgery!
We recommend considering injections when other nonsurgical options are no longer enough to manage your pain. Injections are often the next step if pain lasts more than a few weeks, limits your daily activities, or keeps you from sleeping comfortably.
